Netflix iOS App Update: Got Support for iOS8 along With 1080p playback on iPhone 6 Plus

Netflix updated its iOS app which brings iOS8 support. Notable thing about this update is optimizations for "bigger than bigger" screens of latest iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus.

Netflix now displays more content in video selection menus and search results on 4.7 inch iPhone 6 screen. While iPhone 6 Plus users can watch 1080p video which is considered as a major improvement compared to past app versions and competing services.

In Netflix iOS app's latest version 7.0, Users of Google's Chromecast can see improvements in stream stability.

"Walking Dead: Season 2" iOS Game Made Free by Telltale games

Telltale games made "Walking Dead: Season 2" iOS game free to download from Apple app store so, Now onwards iOS gamers can download the game at free of cost and start playing first episode in game. Each season consists of 5 episodes. Earlier game's first episode was not free to play on iOS platform but now users can download Walking Dead: Season 2 for free and finish episode 1.

The other episodes can be purchased via an in-app purchase for $4.99 per episode. All four episodes can also be purchased for $14.99.

Walking Dead: Season 2 is the sequel of Walking Dead: Season 1. The series is based on Robert Kirkman‘s The Walking Dead comic book series. Telltale has already announced Walking Dead: Season 3, which is the next installment in the game.

Telltale also teased about the upcoming game based on “Game of Thrones” through its Twitter channel.

Microsoft Office Apps Now Available Free on iOS Platform

Finally Microsoft office apps are free to download on iOS so, you would not require to subscribe for Office 365 to access some features of various office apps.

Latest update splits Office programs such as the Word, Excel and Powerpoint into separate apps. These apps also support Dropbox integration for cloud storage.

Free offerings come up with some limitations also. You need Office 365 subscription to access some great features of these office apps. Some of the features are adding columns and custom tables in Excel, modifying a document from portrait to landscape format in Word & Presenter view in PowerPoint.

However If you are not bothered of using advanced features & want to use only basic features that are available in free office apps then You should go for it. Microsoft do not open its free Office apps for business industry, but instead, the businesses needs to subscribe to the Office 365 subscription to use the features of both OneDrive and Dropbox at same.

Tips to Improve Your iPhone's Battery Life Running iOS8

Do you own iPhone that is upgraded to newly released iOS8?
Do you feel that your iPhone's battery life is draining due to iOS8?

If answer of both above given questions is yes then check it out below given tips to improve your battery life.


1) Find out which app is using maximum battery:

Go to: Settings -> General -> Usage -> Battery Usage, Discover the apps which are using most of the battery power. Close unnecessary apps or delete the ones you no longer need.

2) Turn off location-tracking:

Everytime you don't need to be tracked by applications. Turn off location tracking completely or select "while using" option for some apps in iOS8.

Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Share My Location and turn off this battery draining feature. Additionally you can also turn off Wi-Fi from the settings menu to save your precious battery life.

3) Control notification widgets:

Navigate to Settings -> Notifications and turn off notifications from apps.

4) Turn off Handoff:

If you are not planning on using two devices at the same time, you don’t need to run Handoff. Go to Settings -> General -> Handoff & Suggested Apps.

5) Say No to fetching:

If you don't want email notifications on home screen., turn it off by going to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data.

There are other number of ways to preserve your battery life. Just remember to turn off features that you don't need anymore.
